Decision

• ishtaria-server – AGPL-3.0-only: anyone may run a world, but modified servers offered over the network must publish their source. This keeps the federation open and prevents closed forks.

• ishtaria-core, ishtaria-client, ishtaria-worldgen, ishtaria-protocol – MIT: easy adoption, alternative clients and implementations of the protocol are welcome.

• ishtaria-docs, ishtaria-content – CC BY-SA 4.0.

Consequences

• An official hosted world and managed hosting of worlds remain viable business models alongside a fully open ecosystem.
